When I discovered cult movie icon Bruce Campbell would be visiting Buffalo and Syracuse in September, but not Rochester, I cried out “NOOOOO!” just like Ash did in a moment of despair from Evil Dead II.
Okay, not really.
But I did send off an email to Jim Healy, programmer at the Eastman House’s Dryden Theatre. I let him know that Bruce was touring to promote his book, and that he was screening his directorial debut, The Man With the Screaming Brain, at select appearances.
So, lo and behold, we now have the most ironic B-movie actor of our time trekking to Rochester. Come out to the Dryden on Thursday, September 11 for a rollicking good time as Bruce introduces his Bulgarian action/comedy and signs some books. Don’t forget to bring some cash so you can get your own copy of Make Love, the Bruce Campbell Way. Or better yet, buy your book right now, and then bring it that night. C’mon, it’s on the New York Times Best Seller List and everything!
UPDATED AUGUST 8, 2005: SHOW POSTPONED
Bruce Campbell has postponed indefinitely the second leg of his Fall book/movie tour.
“Hey folks, some of you will notice that my book tour has recently been amended to end after Labor Day. The reasons are due to scheduling issues, and I have every intention of visiting those fine NE cities for the next round of my Love book tour, which will resume some time next summer.” -Bruce Campbell
