Allen Richards of B-independent.com has a new round of updated features on his site. If you’re into the indie scene, stop in the message boards and say hello. There are tons of low budget filmmakers there trading ideas.

Alan also personally reviews tons of micro-budget films on the site. These are movies that sometimes don’t get the attention they deserve, so check ’em out.

Here’s Allen’s latest newsletter:

Hello all!

Just a few pieces of business on this update.

REVIEWS

First up, 9 new reviews are on the site, sort of. As message board members know, I always post reviews there first so members can get a sneak peak. It’s just that the main review page hasn’t been updated during my summer “vacation,” but reviews still appeared periodically.

New reviews include:

David Latt’s WAR OF THE WORLDS, a sci-fi road movie best described as My Dinner With Martians.

Scooter McCrea’s SIXTEEN TONGUES, proof that underground cinema is alive and well.

Jess Franco’s RED SILK, yet another reason to shoot the director dead….

PRODUCTION ARTICLES

Only one article this month. Lewis Frega tackles black and white cinematography basics.

Since I mentioned the message boards, allow me to bring people up to speed as we approach 2700 members. After deleting all messages over 6 months old a few weeks ago, we’re still left with 21,000+ posts. So who’s the hottest film message boards on the net? That’s right!

RANDOM STUFF

My co-administrator for the boards, Andy Copp, recently posted his new experimental shortfilm online at the prestigious Prelinger Archives. You can view the short, KING KILL 33 by clicking the link below. When you’re done you have the option to leave feedback on the Prelinger page if you choose not to do so on B-Indi.

Fin ally, our friends at MovieMarkDVD.com are having an October Halloween DVD sale where all dvd’s are at least 60% off. That’s right, 60%! If you support independent film, why not support independent film distribution as well and help Mark feed his kids.
